ALL THINGS GASTRONOMIC

Q:How far to the nearest bread shop?
A:There are 2 bakeries in the vicinity, about 2 km away. A little too far to walk,  we generally cycle.

Q:How far to the nearest shop for general provisions?
A:The bakery in nearby Collorgues also sells basic provisions, even local wine and olive oil.
The village of St Maurice De Cazevielle, which has the other bakery, has a small supermarket, as well as a butcher.
The larger local village of St Chaptes has a small ‘Spar’ shop, as well as bakery and butcher. This is a little further afield.

Q:Where and when are the local markets?
A:Uzes has a very famous and very busy Saturday market. It also has a smaller organic produce market on Wednesdays.
St Chaptes has a produce market on Thursdays. The local village of Foissac also has a weekday market.

Q:Where are the best Supermarkets?
A:There is a large Intermache on the road to Uzes, just after Monteran.(approx 10kms)  During high season it is open 7 days a week, and doesn’t close midday which is very useful!
Just the other side of Uzes is a large Carrefour.

Q:Are there good local restaurants?
A:There is a lovely, very family friendly bar/restaurant in the village of St Maurice De Cazevielle. Simple well executed menu, and take away pizza.
Also a similar type place in nearby Baron.  Both are within cycling distance.

We are spoilt for choice with restaurants, a list of recommended eateries can be found in the house.

ALL THINGS POOLSIDE

Q:Is the pool enclosed?
A:The pool at the Grand Mas is partially enclosed by a wall and hedge.  It has an electrically operated roll on security cover, thus meeting all safety regulations.

The pool at the Mazet also has a roll on security cover, however this one is operated manually.

Q:Is the pool heated?
A:The pool at the Grand Mas is heated to extend the season.  If tenants want it heated very early or late (April/October) we may have to add a surcharge to cover the cost.
Do you provide pool towels? Yes, pool towels are provided at no extra cost.

Q:Is there a shower by the pool?
A:Yes both pools have outdoor showers.  The Grand Mas also has a loo in the ‘poolhouse'.

ALL THINGS CHILDREN AND ANIMALS

Q:How safe is the area for small children, ie is there a busy road?
A:Mas De L’Aveugle is a really quiet little hamlet.  It is a cul de sac, with a very small country lane running through it.  It has practically no traffic, only yours!

Q:Why do you say the Petit Mazet is not suitable for small children?
A:Each of the bedrooms in the Mazet are separate units.  There are no internal corridors linking them, although the main downstairs bedrooms are right next door to one another, accessed from the terrace, they would not be suitable for a toddler, or very young children who would be sleeping alone.  We have had young children there, but normally sharing with parents or an older sibling.

Q:Do we allow animals?
A:We are certainly willing to consider animals.  We have had several tenants who have arrived with dogs, it is a wonderful place for a dog who likes to walk!  Our main considerations are cleanliness and damage, and we may ask for an extra deposit if animals are staying too.

OTHER STUFF!

Q:Do you have internet connection?
A:We do not have broadband yet, but we do have an internet card, for your laptop, which is available for rent. Please enquire.

Q:Are there any extra costs?
A:All linen, towels and pool towels are inclusive.

Peak season lets of 1 week will incur an end of stay cleaning charge.

Logs are provided, although winter months will incur a small heating surcharge.

Q:What is the changeover day?
A:During high season, the changeover day is Saturday.  We ask tenants not to arrive before 4pm, and to leave by 10am on the day of departure.

Out of season we are happy to be more flexible.

Q:How do we reserve/book?
A:If you want to book either house, you can email a request for a booking form daydarian@gmail.com This can be filled in online. To secure given dates, we ask for a payment of 25% of the full rental amount. The balance should be paid 8 weeks before arrival, time allowing.
